George H. W. Massey, age 84, of Hardyville formerly of West Bridgewater, Massachusettsdied Saturday, July 21, 2012. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and retired from the civil service with the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Donovan Masonic Lodge #75 A.F. & A.M., Deltaville and the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. Survived by his wife, Verna W. Massey, two daughters; Juleyann Massey of Illinois, Lillian Horigan of North Carolina; two sons, George H. Massey of Massachusetts, Peter Massey of Mississippi, fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, July 28th in Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Topping. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 62 in Deltaville, which he was a member of, c/o E.T. Minter, PO Box 1056, Deltaville, VA 23043, Donovan Masonic Lodge #75 A.F. & A.M., PO Box 915, Deltaville, VA 23043 or a charity of your choice.
