Born April 26, 1949. George Thomas Parks Sr. has gone to rejoin his true love, best friend and wife of 42 years, Mary Parks on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He is survived by two sons and families, George Thomas Parks Jr. and John Parks; three daughters and families, Mary Parks-McKenzie, Gretchen Schmitt, and Heather Cole; 14 grand-children, Matthew, Isabella, Andrew, Savannah and Jackson Parks, Diana and Madison Parks, Katharine and Kyle McKenzie, Terence and Najae Williams, Victoria, Zachary and Ethan Cole.
George was a retired engineer of 25 years for Metro Transit Authority, an outstanding father and husband, a talented craftsman of leather and wood, as well as a toy maker. He is deeply loved and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday Dec 14th at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda. Interment for both George and Mary Parks will be at Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery, Deltaville.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Memorial Gifts may be made to support one of George’s grandchildren Jackson Parks, who has been very sick and is currently in the hospital.
