George Richard Winder, Jr., 68, of Gloucester passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021. He was a retired employee of Kings Dominion and was later employed with O’Malley Timber Products. He was preceded in death by his sister, Edith Ohde.
George is survived by his son George Richard Winder, III (Heather) of Center Cross; daughter Shannon Winder Bolton (Brent) of Kilmarnock; sisters Patricia W. Robins of Gloucester, Joyce Carter of Chesterfield, Brenda Fairbanks (Doug) of Hayes; brothers John O’Neal Winder (Mary Jean) of Tappahannock and Edward Wilson Winder (Carol) of Yorktown; grandchildren Zoe & Piper Winder, Catherine Bolton (Dazman) and Christian Nicole Winder; great-grandchildren Rylan and Kingston Davis; nephew William Stevens, Jr. (Terry) and their daughter Brittany; niece Cheri Green all of Gloucester; nephew Joshua; nieces Crystal, Melissa, Tracy, Stacy and Tonya; caregivers Wendy Doster, Jessica West, Lisa Burnett, Ruth Reid, (Tina Pritt who preceded George in death), Dr. Valls, Donna Adams, Trina Bishop and many other care givers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 in the Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock with Pastor Mike Gray. Interment will follow in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will O'Neal Winder, Wilson Winder, William Stevens, Brian Stevens, Doug Fairbanks, George Winder III, Glenn Doster and Brent Pew. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
