Gloria Stanford

Gloria "Fay" Stanford, 88, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2017, with her family by her side. She was a native of Newport News, VA and retired from Riverside Regional Hospital. She was a resident of Mathews, VA.

Fay was born January 26, 1929 in Newport News to Carrie (nee Savedge) & Herbert Councill. She is preceded in death by her brother Milton Councill and two grandsons, Keith Stringfellow & Christopher Stanford.

She is survived by her three sons; William Stanford, Steven Stanford (Susan), Brian Stanford; her seven grandchildren Terri Johnson, Melissa Allen, Rebecca Stanford, Maranda Shackelford, Carrie McDaniels (Gabriel), Hannah Stanford, and Isabella Stanford. Her six great-grandchildren that include Killian McDaniels & Selena Shackelford. Also left to cherish her memory a host of nieces, a nephew and a loving sister-in-law Jean Councill. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, VA is serving the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the American Cancer Society.
