Granville Clarence Crane, 89, of Wake, VA passed away Friday, February 10, 2017. He was born in Newport News, VA on January 19, 1928. Granville is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Crane; three daughters, Cynthia Wilson (Bobby), Wanda Henschen (Tom), and Laurie Billings. He was also the loving grandfather to eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister and three brothers. He grew up in Newport News and served in the Army during the post World War II era. After his service he worked for Newport News Shipbuilding in the Reproduction Department and retired after 45 years with the company. After retiring, he managed his own business, Crane Printing and for many years provided church bulletins, cookbooks, and many other items for area churches, volunteer organizations and local businesses. He and his wife were members of Lower United Methodist Church. He enjoyed outdoor activities; gardening, hunting, fishing and yardwork. A visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, February 17th from 11a.m. to 12p.m. at the Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Graveside services will follow at 2p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad, Deltaville, VA 23043.
