Guy Abbott

Guy L. Abbott, age 57, of Water View passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013. He was a 1976 graduate of Middlesex High School. Upon graduation he began his career with the Virginia Department of Transportation then on to Chief Forestry Warden, Virginia Marine Resource Commission then Sheriff of Middlesex County from 2000 until 2011. He was a member and deacon of Hermitage Baptist Church where he was director of the video and sound system. Guy was also a charter member and former chief for 20 years of the Upper Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department. Survived by his wife Christine “Chrissy” Ashby Abbott; children, Casey, James and Angel; parents, Woodrow, Jr. and Annie Abbott; brother, Russell Abbott and a sister, Annette Tabor. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Interment Hermitage Baptist Church Cemetery, Church View. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8PM Saturday at the funeral home.
