Helen White

Helen Wright White, 78, of Deltaville passed away peacefully on November 15, 2017. She was the daughter of Charles and Louise Wright of Chesapeake, VA. Helen graduated from Great Bridge High School and Radford College. She was a career educator and retired after 31 years of teaching. She taught in Chesapeake, Woodbridge, and Middlesex. She was the consummate professional and loved by her students. Helen is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years Graham Lee White, her children Jeannie and Jerry Duke, Mark and Maggie White, and grandchildren Matthew and Brittany Duke, Morgan and Ryan Smith, Mason Duke, and Abigail and Anna White. She is also survived by her siblings Warren and Kathy Wright, Gary and Linda Wright, Debbie and Zach Quidley, Leroy and Claudia White, Russell White, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Helen was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church where she was a dedicated member of the choir, a founding member of the Edna Yankovich Women’s Circle, held many leadership positions within the church, and was an active participant in the soup and food ministries. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at Clarksbury United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers that expressions of condolences be given in the way of donations to the Clarksbury United Methodist Building Fund.
