Henter Lee "Doc" Blevins, D.D.S., 83, of Hardyville, Virginia passed away on September 14, 2023.
Lee Blevins was born in Woodstock, VA to the late Lucas Henter Blevins, D.D.S., and Jean Heneveld Blevins.
He attended the Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, VA for four years before graduating from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA. He graduated from the University of Richmond and subsequently completed dental school at the Medical College of Virginia in 1966. Dr. Blevins initially joined his father’s dental practice before beginning his own career in Midlothian, VA in the early 1970s. He later joined with Dr. Jerry Jenkins to form the first group practice in the area. He retired from dentistry in 2007 and moved full-time to “the rivah”.
Dr. Blevins was a member of the Richmond Dental Society and was an avid scuba diver, fisherman, quail hunter and outdoorsman.
Dr. Blevins is survived by his wife, Lucy Flannagan Blevins; his children, Scottie Blevins Smith (Rusty) of Maidens, VA, Dana Blevins Davis (Matt) of Rockville, VA, Henter Graham Blevins (Chrissie) of Powhatan, VA, Jarrett Bryce Blevins (Meredith) of Hollywood, SC, Daniel Patrick Blevins (Amanda) of Awendaw, SC, and Matthew Rankin (Amanda) of New York, NY; grandchildren, Peyton Jenkins, Phebe Jenkins, Avery Dreyer, Jake Smith, Riggs Clarkson, Tucker Clarkson, Kyle Davis, Justin Davis, Luca Blevins, Ana Blevins, Bryce Blevins, Bailey Blevins, Hayden Blevins, Lawton Blevins and Beaudil Blevins; and his siblings, Dr. Beth Cuje, Dr. Keith Blevins (Mary) and Jean Blevins (Andrew).
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Deep Run Hunt Club in Manakin-Sabot, VA on Saturday October 21, 2023 from 2 P.M. - 5 P.M. There will also be a more intimate memorial service at the Clarksbury United Methodist Church in Hardyville, VA on Sunday October 22, 2023 at 2 P.M.
To honor Lee’s love of the outdoors, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
