Irma Carneal

Irma Scott Carneal, 95, of Tappahannock passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. She was the widow of Thomas W. “Big T” Carneal, Sr. Irma was preceded in death by her siblings Dorris Simon, Bernice Bowen, Herbert, Earl, Frederick “Brother” and Lester Scott.

Irma and her husband were the owners of Carneal’s Tastee Freez and Carneal’s Tire. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Thursday Morning Ladies Bowling League, Ladies Auxiliary of the TEVFD and Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her son Thomas W. Carneal, Jr. (Kim); her granddaughter, Dorri Carneal Sanders (Stephen) and three great-grandchildren Karsen, Luke and Eli Sanders all of Tappahannock.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock. Interment will follow in St. John’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Tappahannock. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
