J. Brown

J. M. "Mickey" Brown, Sr., of Port Haywood, Virginia, age 72, just four days shy of his 73rd. birthday, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Mathews County. Mickey graduated from Mathews High School in 1963. He retired from Huntington Ingalls in 2006 after 42 years of service in Electrical Trades training, Dept. 026. Mickey developed a successful lawn care business in 2001 and retired in 2017. He had a strong work ethic and enjoyed traveling and family times.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Novella Brown; brothers, Bobby and Billy Brown; and a son Michael Brown. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara J. Brown; daughters Michelle Barnes (Dave) and Vicky Heimerich (Mike); a brother, Wayne Brown (Christy); sister-in-law Dana Brown; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nephews; several nieces and 3 step-sons, David Warren, Jason Emanuel (Megan) and Tate Emanuel (Judy).

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 27th from 6-8-pm at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home chapel followed by interment at H.C. Smither Cemetery.
