Jack Rowe

Jack Rowe, 91, of Gwynn, VA, passed away peacefully with his beloved family by his side on February 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Vernon Rowe, Sr. and Addie Diggs Rowe; his wife, Dorothy Hollowell Rowe; his brothers, Wilson, George V, Jr. "Buddy", Shelton and Julian Rowe and sisters, Christine Holloway, Della Forrest, Eleanor Stevens, Minnie Williams and Emma Lee Knight. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Eddie) Perkins and Carolyn (Steve) Rowe; one granddaughter, Lindsay (Brandon) Haywood; one great-grandson, Tristan Haywood; his sister, Ruby Akins, numerous nieces and nephews and his dear friend of thirteen years, Minnie Bassett and her children, Debbie Buchanan, Cathy Owens and John Raymond Bassett. He was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from the federal government. He was kind and generous to everyone and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Virginia at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Interment will follow at the Gwynn's Island Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at Gwynn's Island Baptist Church from 4:30 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Gwynn's Island Baptist Church, P.O.
