In Loving Memory of Jacob Logan Bozeman
December 8, 2004 – March 20, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, Jacob Bozeman, age 20, who died tragically in the line of duty on March 20, 2025, from a motor vehicle accident while returning from transporting a critically ill patient to VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. Jacob was doing what he loved—serving others as a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
From the early age of four, Jacob knew he wanted to become an EMT. While most children changed their dreams with the seasons, he remained steadfast in his calling. His passion for emergency medicine only grew stronger with time, and through hard work, relentless determination, and a heart full of compassion, he achieved that dream.
Jacob was a proud member of American Medical Response, where he earned the admiration and respect of his colleagues for his commitment, skill, and gentle, caring nature. Whether on a routine call or a high-pressure emergency, Jacob approached every situation with calm, focus, and a genuine desire to help those in need.
Outside of work, Jacob was known for his infectious smile, quick wit, and kind soul. He loved his family deeply, cherished time with friends, and had a special gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. He had a bright future ahead of him—one full of promise, service, and continued dedication to his community.
He is survived by his loving parents Samantha Gartner (Chris Gartner) and Travis Bozeman (Kate Bozeman), his devoted siblings (Daniel, Emily, Makenna, Aubrey, Declan), grandparents Sharon Medley, Tommy Medley (Laurie), Sandra Perry (John Perry), Bob Gartner (Pat Gartner), aunts and uncles, Shelby Medley, Thomas Medley(Leah Clarke Medley), Shauna Lee (Frank Lee), Ryan Patterson (Allie Oleson), Corey Gartner( Sara King), Ashley Gartner, and many great aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and his extended public service family, all of whom are heartbroken by his sudden loss.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at Faulkner Funeral Home, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jacob’s life will be held on March 30, 2025 at Essex High School-Auditorium beginning at 2 pm. All are welcome to attend and pay their respects to a true hero who left us far too soon but left an indelible mark on this world.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to GoFundMe - Honoring Jacob Bozeman: A Hero's Legacy to support his parents and to continue Jacob’s legacy of service.
Rest easy, Jacob Logan Bozeman. Your dedication, kindness, and selflessness will never be forgotten.
