James Ashby

James H. Ashby, Jr., 86, of Deltaville, a retired insurance broker passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the home of Jackie Hewitt, his loving companion for eighteen years.  He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of Donovan Masonic Lodge #75 A.F & A.M., Deltaville where he received his fifty year pin in 2016.  Survived by his children, Georgann Ashby Wood (Terry), Christine Ashby Abbott (Willard Bristow, III), James H. “Tripp” Ashby, III (Francesca); a sister, Eleanor Virginia Taylor; grandchildren, Ashley Spoor (Adam), Kristin Wood, Casey Abbott, Mathew Ferdun-Wood (Tyler), James Abbott, Angel Abbott and Victoria Bennett.  He was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Byron “Ikey” Ashby.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday in Faulkner Funeral Home, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.  Entombment with masonic rites will follow at Windsor Gardens Cemetery & Mausoleum, Dutton.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
