James Beaver

James “Jimmie” Garland Beaver, 77, of Hardyville, VA, passed away peacefully September 27, 2015, at Rappahannock General Hospital. He was born on February 4, 1938, in Stephen City, Virginia, to the late Bertha S. and Benjamin H. Beaver. He was part of National Guard in Winchester and served for the Army Reserve in Christiansburg while attending Virginia Tech (VPI). He retired in 2005 from Maurice Electrical Supply in Washington DC after 35 years of commercial sales & project management. He was a member of The Lower United Methodist Church, in Hartfield, VA. In addition to his parents, Jimmie Beaver was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Beaver, and sisters, Anna Margaret Snapp and Irene Nicholson. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Betty Lou Beaver and their five children: son, David Beaver, two granddaughters Jessica Rae & Katherine; son, Randy Beaver; daughter, Cathy Francois, three grandchildren, Joshua, April and Amanda; daughter, Cindy Piccione and her husband Tony, two grandchildren Megan and Drew; Jonathan Beaver and wife Tracey; and two sisters, Helen Perry of Winchester, VA, and Eloise Manuel of Columbus, GA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 5th, 2015, at Lower United Methodist Church, 120 Lower Church Rd Hartfield, VA with the Reverend Ileana Rosario and Reverend Joe Klotz officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service for food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hands Across Middlesex, 7485 General Puller Highway Locust Hill, VA 23092 or Lower United Methodist Church, PO Box 98 Hartfield, VA 23071.
