James Hudgins

James Colie Hudgins, Sr., 92, of Hartfield a native of Mathews passed away, Tuesday, August 22, 2017. He was a retired tankerman from Gulf Oil and Exxon Oil and a long time employee of Hurds Hardware in Deltaville. Colie was also a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Lower United Methodist Church and Donovan Lodge #75 A.F & A.M. and a member of Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department. Survived by his wife Virginia “Tillie” Hudgins; children, Sheila H. Scales, Marsha H. Collier (Warren), Jamie Hudgins; grandchildren, Jennifer S. Hill (Bob), Michael Collier (Rhonda), Patrick Scales and Jake Hudgins (Amy) four great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Friday in Lower United Methodist Church, Hartfield. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.
