James Robert Beazley, 76, was born August 12, 1943 to the late Archie L. and Lucy Beazley. He was preceded in death by sixteen brothers and sisters. Jimmy leaves behind his wife of 53½ years, Nora S. Beazley; two sisters, Mary Greber and Laura Starr both of Tappahannock; three children, Juanita Williams (Rodney) of King and Queen County, Marie Willet (Rusty) of Amelia County, Corey Beazley (Andea) of Tappahannock; eight grandchildren, Amber Haden and Valerie Brown of Amelia, Philip Williams of King and Queen County, Holly, Jaime, Warner, and Bowen Beazley of Tappahannock, and James Lee of Amelia; two great-grandchildren Wynter and Damien Moore of Amelia, and his cat George.
Jimmy attended Tappahannock High School. He worked for Safeway for 24 years before retiring from the Virginia Department of Corrections after 20 years with Caroline Unit #2. He served with Tappahannock-Essex Volunteer Fire Department and Tappahannock Volunteer Rescue Squad each of which he was a life member.
Jimmy had a passion for hunting and was a member of Dragon Hunt Club for more than 50 years. His love of the Lord was found through Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a member his entire life.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Charlie Ryan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 - 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt.
