James “Jimmy” Williams, 74, passed away on April 8, 2024 in Tappahannock, Virginia. He was born in Senora, Virginia on July 14, 1949, to Arthur and Stella Williams. He was a graduate of Tappahannock High School and Smithdeal-Massey Business College.
He was an active and beloved member of Beale Memorial Baptist Church in Tappahannock. He is survived by his mother Stella, his son Foster, and his four brothers Stan (Michele), Mike (Brenda), Steve (Bridgett), and David (Carolyn). He leaves behind seven nieces and nephews and their 10 children. A special thank you to his loving sister-in-law Michele Williams who was his friend and devoted caregiver over his final months.
Those who knew Jimmy remember him for his kindness, his contagious smile, and his playful sense of humor. He enjoyed sports and, in his youth, played football and baseball for Tappahannock. He loved spending his free time with his family and friends. He was a devoted father to his son Foster, and they loved to spend time together watching and travelling to Atlanta Braves baseball games.
The family will be celebrating his life with a memorial service on Saturday, April 13th at 11 a.m. at Marks-Bristow Chapel (206 N Church Lane Tappahannock, VA 22560). A viewing will also be held Friday evening April 12th from 6 – 7:30 p.m. All are welcome. Donations, in Jimmy’s memory, may be made to Beale Memorial Baptist Church (P.O.
