James Lindahl

December 31, 1969 — April 29, 2021

Jim Lindahl, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Born in Almena, Kansas, Jim is survived by his wife Lynn, daughters Lori Thrift (Danny), Jami Carneal (Marty), and Jennifer Jones (Benny), John Gitchell (Jean), Anne Gitchell, grandchildren Rylee (Lindsay), Daniel (Hannah), Leah, Sam, Gavin, Grayson, Hayden, Collin, Kyle, Karen, sisters Wilda Bowman and Marjorie Sherman. In addition, he is survived by nieces and nephews that he loved like his own. He is preceded in death by father Roy Lindahl, mother Mary Lindahl, and brother Charles Lindahl.

A graduate of Kansas State University, he spent his early career as a ranch manager at several farms. Jim later went back to school and received his Master’s Degree in Vocational Education from Virginia State University and taught at the Northern Neck Vocational Center and Rappahannock Community College. At the end of his career, he became the maintenance supervisor at Sonoco Paper Products in Richmond, Virginia and retired in 2004.

As an active member of Bethlehem Baptist church and Gideons International, Jim spent much of his life spreading the Word of God. When he wasn’t with his church family, he loved spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He also loved supporting Essex sports teams and travelled to games for over 30 years.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. and service to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 217 Elevon Rd, Champlain, Virginia. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Please be advised that current state-mandated guidelines will apply to all in attendance, including social distancing and appropriate face coverings. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, is assisting the family with arrangements.
