Janet Meanley

Janet Ludwig Meanley, age 63 of Henrico and Deltaville, went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jan was a sincere believer in the Lord and was known for her inner strength and will to live. She attended Sandston Baptist Church in Henrico and also Zoar Baptist Church in Deltaville.

A loving wife of 38 years to her husband Gerald “Jerry” Meanley, Jan was an Elementary School Teacher for many years, was an avid vacationer, and loved spending time in Deltaville on the water.

Jan was predeceased by her parents Dick and Virginia Ludwig and her brother Ricky Ludwig. In addition to her husband Jerry, Jan is survived by a son Lee Meanley and wife Brandy; a daughter Amy Covington and husband Matt; and five grandchildren to whom she was lovingly known as “JJ”, Ellie (6), Mason (5), Patrick (5), Katelyn (3), and Claire (1); and Jan’s dog Hokie.

The family will receive friends at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, located at 15 C.F. Edwards Lane, Saluda VA 23149 from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, July 30th, and on Tuesday, July 31st, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 at Zoar Baptist Church, located at 17097 General Puller Hwy, Deltaville, VA 23043. Interment will follow in Philippi Cemetery, also in Deltaville.

Jan’s family will also host a Celebration of Life Gathering in her honor at 1 pm on Saturday, August 4th, 2018 at 69 Minglewood Court, Manquin, VA 23106.
