Janet Rowe

Janet Arlene Padgett Rowe, 79, of Gloucester, VA was called home to be forever with our Lord on Sunday, August 5, 2018. She was born March 5, 1939 in Arlington, VA to Marguerite and Walter Padgett. As a young girl she moved to Seaford, VA and graduated from York High School in 1957. She married Francis (Jim) Rowe in 1958 and they had 2 children, Cathy and Mark. In 1979, she moved to Gloucester and lived there until she passed. She enjoyed being a homemaker and cherished her family. During her life, she was an active member of Reedswood Christian Church, Gloucester, VA and served as secretary for a short time. Over the years, she worked as an insurance billing clerk for various agencies and businesses. After retirement, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens and helping to take care of her mother.

Janet was preceded in death by her father; Walter B. Padgett and her beloved mother; Marguerite Arline Phillips. She is survived by her loving brother; Douglas Padgett and wife, Betty Jean. Janet was blessed with and loved dearly her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter; Cathy Rowe Wilson and husband Davis, and her son Mark Rowe and wife Cindy. Six grandchildren; Christopher Rowe and wife Heather, Heather Wilson Lewis and husband David, Jennifer Rowe Barto and husband Joe, Andrew Rowe and wife Chelsea, Kelly D. Wilson, and Rebecca Rowe Marshall and husband Bobby; six great-grandchildren; Joshua, Samuel, David, Caleb, Emma, Robby and two more will be joining the family later this year. She also leaves to remember her a host of Nieces and Nephews. Janet leaves a lifetime legacy of kindness and gentleness.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, VA. Flowers may be sent to Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda, VA or to Peninsula Memorial Park, site 295. In lieu of memorial flowers donations may be made to Gideon International @ www2.Gideons.org.
