Jean Thrift

Mrs. Jean Ripley Thrift, age 94 of Chesterfield, formerly of Locust Hill, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Thrift, and her siblings: Ruby R. Lyons, Muriel R. Moore, Lorene R. Harvey, Howard Kenneth Ripley, Frances Ripley McClure, Edward Glenn Ripley. She is survived by her daughter Jean Ellen Thrift, and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was born and raised in Hinton, West Virginia. Later she earned her LPN degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She loved Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She devoted her life to ministering to the needs of her friends and family, especially her precious daughter, Jean Ellen Thrift.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of Lucy Corr Village for their excellent care. Special gratitude from the family to Linda Ann Lyons-Bailey for her loving care and oversight of all matters and concerns of Jean and Jean Ellen over the past few years.

Graveside services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, June 16th at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Locust Hill. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda is assisting the family.
