After a long battle with cancer, Jeffrey Lane Harper of Gloucester died at home on Thursday, April 16, 2015, Jeff was born on March 7, 1959 to Philip Joseph and Glorious Ann Harper. He grew up in a large, loving family with three brothers. He attended school in Staunton at VSDB and then at Woodrow Wilson Trade School. He later worked at Barnhardt Duck Farm. He loved racing and enjoyed watching his younger brother race. Jeff was involved in weekly maintenance of the car and stood proudly with all on the front straight away after a win. He watched NASCAR on television, cheering for Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and others. He also enjoyed video games, family gatherings, holidays and watching the Waltons. Jeff is survived by his parents, Philip and Glorious Harper; brothers, Joseph Harper, Danny Harper (Cheryl) and Raymond Harper (Teresa). As well as numerous nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts. Jeff was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Downing Harper and Mary Harper Hargrove and his maternal grandparents, Ernest Bristow and Mary Alice Bristow. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Interment will be in Forest Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Warner. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
