Jelena Cockrell

Jelena (Elena) Yuhnevich Cockrell, 43, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 23, 2017 at her home in Christchurch, VA. Elena was born on June 5, 1974, in Riga Latvia. Elena had a kind and gentle heart. She dearly loved children and was loved by them. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, John H. Cockrell, of Christchurch; step-daughter, Virginia (GiGi) Cockrell of Brescia, Italy; mother, Valentina Yuhnevich, of Riga; mother-in-law, Barbara C. Cockrell, of Christchurch, brother-in-law Thomas L. Cockrell (Cindy), of Locust Hill, beloved cousins Marina and Ramon Vasjukova of Riga, and several nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family and her faithful companions, Merle, Sam, Zeus, Andy and Lucy. Always be kind to one another. Memorial services will be held at 2PM on Saturday, July 8th, at Christ Church Parish Episcopal, 56 Christchurch Lane, Saluda, VA 23149.
