Jerry Lee Fruehbrodt, 86, went to join his wife, Carol, in heaven on Friday, August 12, 2022. He was born in Wisconsin and moved to Virginia to serve in the U.S. Army at Fort Eustis, Virginia. After the service, Jerry and Carol started their family and owned several businesses: coin company, antique store, repair service for Coca-Cola, and then owned Sibley’s General Store in Mathews County, Virginia. As a collector of antiques, he was very proud of owning Sibley’s, his biggest antique. Being the store owner, he was often called “Mr. Sibley”. Jerry could fix anything. He loved living on the water, fishing and boating.
Jerry was the son of Louis and Margaret Fruehbrodt of Marshfield, Wisconsin. He was brother to Patricia Grosbier, William Fruehbrodt, Ronald Fruehbrodt and Jack Fruehbrodt. He is survived by his two daughters, Vicki Schottelkotte and Shari Sears; three grandchildren, Christin Garcia, Kaylyn Morris and Sydney Sears, and five great grandchildren, Jayden Morris, Brody Morris, James Garcia, Elizabeth Garcia and Lily Garcia.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held on Monday, August 15th at 10:00 a.m. at H. C. Smither Memorial Cemetery on Queens Creek in Mathews County where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia assisted the family.
