Jimmy Ray Phillips, Sr. 76, of Cobbs Creek, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at his home. He was born on April 17, 1946. He graduated from Mathews High School in 1964 and from the Newport News Apprentice School in 1969. In 1976 he worked for CDI Marine Co, and was currently working for the City of Newport News Codes Compliance. Jim had an A1 Building Contract license, an ASA Master Plumber license. He also had a Real Estate Broker license, and a HVAC license. He taught Auto CAD at ODU and graduated from the Norfolk Police Academy.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy H. Phillips; a daughter, Karen Phillips; a son, Jimmy R. Phillips, Jr. (Janice); grandchildren, Colby Phillips, Brodie Phillips, Keeley Phillips, Coral Phillips, Ryan Polesko, Steven Pritchett (Kayla); a great-grandson, Cole Pritchett and a special nephew, Phil Phillips.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia. A Funeral service will be held at 1:00. p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton, Virginia.
