Jo Ann Griffin Cofer Hudgins Peed

Jo Ann Peed passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Sentara Northern

Virginia Medical Center (Potomac Hospital). She is preceded in death by her parents Martin and Margaret Griffin and her husbands Joseph Cofer, Sr. and Albert Hudgins. Mrs. Peed worked for the Fairfax County School system as a secretary. She also worked for Piedmont Federal Savings and Loan in Manassas, VA and finally retiring as Church Secretary for Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield, VA. Jo Ann is survived by her husband Dale Peed of Dale City; two sons Joseph Cofer and his wife Christine of Hickory NC, James Cofer and his wife Denise of Thurmont, MD, two stepdaughters, Nancy Stoffregan and Barbara Hetricks as well as nine grandchildren. Friends and family will be celebrating Jo Ann’s life with a memorial service on Saturday, May 19th, 2:00 PM at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield, VA. Jo Ann will be laid to rest at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jo Ann’s name to the Kidney and Liver Foundation.
