John Purcell

John R. Purcell, Jr., age 75, of Deltaville died peacefully at home on March 9, 2018. He was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church, a retiree of Dominion Power, and a past member of Lower Middlesex Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Purcell Sr. and Wilda Purcell and his son, Thomas Franklin Purcell. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosalyn Hogge Purcell (Tinker); son, John Richard Purcell, III (Audria); grandson John R. Purcell IV; former daughter-in-law, Terri Davis; two granddaughters, Kelly Best (Stephen) and Abigail Purcell; great grandson, Thomas Macon Best; sister, Estelle Davis (Robert); brother-in-law, Thomas Hogge (Joyce) and several nephews. John enjoyed attending sporting events of his children and his grandchildren and welcoming friends and family into his home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.
