John M. Robbins "Peanut", longtime Onemo resident and friend to all departed this life to spend Eternity with his wife and love of his life Bennie Robbins on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
John M. was born on January 25, 1931 to Tennessee and Mary Jane Robbins in Robbins Chapel, Virginia. He moved to the Peninsula in 1950 to attend the Shipyard Apprentice School. It is during this time he met and fell in love with Bennie Sumners and they were wed on December 24, 1953.
John M. leaves behind to cherish his memory their children; Kenneth Robbins (Melinda), Johnny Robbins, Ricky Robbins and Sharon Robbins; grandchildren Kacey Robbins, Kaylyn Robbins, Brandon Robbins, Michael Rainey and Kaitlyn Rainey and a host of very dear family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 and followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, VA.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to make donations to Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, P O Box 723, Mathews, VA 23109 or to Meals on Wheels, c/o Nelda Gibbs, P O Box 369, Mathews, VA 23109
