Joseph Carroll Hogge, Jr.

Joseph Carroll Hogge Jr, 82, of Essex County, VA, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. He enjoyed going to auctions, and buying and collecting antiques. He also liked to repair model trains, flying airplanes and traveling. He enjoyed the Warsaw Opry, flea marketing and yard sales, dining out, and making crosses to give out to people. 

He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, Lyells, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Carroll Hogge, Sr.; and his mother, Grace Lee McRae Hogge. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Hogge; sisters, Catherine Ann Kiss (Howard) and Anita Marie Norman (Melvin;) several nieces and nephews; and his cats, Alice Rose, Bubbi, and his favorite, Trouble. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14th, 2024 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, Lyells, Virginia. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 130 Beulah Lane, Warsaw, VA 22572
