Josephine Miller Major, age 87, of Stormont, widow of J. Hubert Major, Sr., died Wednesday, June 27, 2012. She was a member of Saluda Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her daughter Deborah M. Mitchem and is survived by her daughter Katherine M. (Kitty) Priddy (Glenn), of Stormont and son, J. Hubert (Bert) Major, Jr. (Mary) of Staunton, six grandchildren; Wendy B. Payne, Melissa B. Sears, Katherine Lee Priddy, Shannon B. Wickham, Cara R. Major and Wendell Ray Mitchem, Jr., and seven great-grandchildren; Allison and Avary Payne, John Robert, Joseph and Ashlynn Sears, Trey Wickham and William Moore and two brothers, John Dabney Miller of Locust Hill and Virgil Miller (Myrtle) of Deltaville. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 29 in Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Interment Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Topping. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday (Tonight) at the funeral home.
