Judith Truslow Allen was called home to be with her Lord & Savior on November 10, 2023. She passed away in her home in Tappahannock surrounded by family. Judy will be forever remembered as a kind, funny, hardworking, and loyal person. She was in federal service for the United States Department of Agriculture for over three decades before retiring to assume full time family and grandma duty. This included taking great care and interest in her beloved dog, Polly and cat with nine lives, Rambo. Judy enjoyed reading locally-set mystery novels; binge-watching westerns on TV; creating arts and crafts, particularly for holidays, birthdays, and other celebrations; following sports events that her family participated in; gardening; and cooking, baking, and pickling during the summer months. She will be deeply missed.
Judy was the daughter of Henry Lee and Florence Chenault Truslow of Champlain, VA. She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Wilson (and husband Chris) and Laura Pica (and wife Alexis). "Grandma" and "Monie," as she was lovingly called, is also survived by her three beautiful granddaughters: Abbie, Emma, and Hazel; brother, Kenneth Lee Truslow (and his wife Faye), and her life-long friend and companion, John Allen.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Tuesday, November 21, at Upper Essex Baptist Church with a memorial service following at 12:15pm.
