Judy Cothron Erdman, 82, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024, surrounded by her family. Judy was born in Urbanna, Virginia and graduated from St. Margaret’s School.
Judy’s family served as the center of her life, and she provided advice, guidance, and support to all. Vacations and holidays with extended family provided cherished moments and indelible memories. Judy was devoted to her Episcopal faith and deeply committed to her church. In the most recent years, she found a passion for flowers and served as the President of the Richmond Council of Garden Clubs, Inc., a member and Vice President of Ginter Park Garden Club, and a member and corresponding Secretary of Ginter Park Book Reviewers Club.
Judy was predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Robert Livingstone Erdman, M.D.
She is survived by her children, Robert William (Karen) Erdman, Christopher Thomas (Becki) Erdman, and Amy Erdman (Bill) Porter, M.D.; seven grandchildren, Audrey Erdman, Emery Erdman, Joshua Erdman, Gabrielle Erdman, William Erdman Porter, Benjamin Nichols Porter, and John Livingstone Porter; and her siblings, Merdith (Andy) Black, Finley (Bob) Keller, and Chris (Roxie) Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Christ Church Parish Episcopal, Saluda, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James River Association, 16 S 17th Street Suite 100, Richmond, Va 23219.
