Kathryn Ann D’Amato, 86, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 in Gloucester, VA. Kathryn was born in Ludlow, MA on August 10, 1933.
Kathryn, or Kitty, as she was known by family and friends, was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to many in the Mathews and Newport News communities. Her sweet personality and infectious laugh was known to many and she will be dearly missed. She was actively involved over the years in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Newport News, VA and the Newcomer’s Club of Mathews, VA. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church of Francis de Sales.
Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. James and Yvonne Carr; her brother Jim, and her daughter, Kathleen. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Neil; her sons and spouses, Victor and Karen, Brian and Pam; and her six grandchildren, Anna, Brandon, Daniel, Joe, Nick, and Zachary.
There will be a private service with her immediate family. Friends and family will be notified at a later date as to when we will be able to celebrate and honor our beloved Kitty.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kitty’s honor may be made to the Gloucester Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 1881, Gloucester, Virginia 23061. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia assisted the family.
