Lawrence W. Ambrose, Sr., age 69, of Mathews, Virginia passed away April 18, 2014 after a long illness. He was the founder of Ambrose Disposal Service and known for being a hard working and honest man. He was also a wonderful husband, Father, and PaPa. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Iva Ray Sibley Ambrose and his parents, Robert W. and Marie Ambrose.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou and six children, Debbie (Barry), Anita (Chris), Lawrence, Jr. (Vicki), Delores (Bill), Lisa (Wayne) and George (Kelly). He had 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Brown and 2 brothers, Charles K. and Robert C. Ambrose; one niece, 4 nephews and one special nephew, Robert Earl, whom he was very close to.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 6 – 9 pm at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Virginia. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow in Windsor Garden Mausoleum, Dutton, Virginia.
