Lee William Rosser, Major USAF Retired, entered Heaven on December 28, 2020. Lee served in the USAF for 20 years living out his childhood dream of being a Tactical Fighter Pilot. Lee flew missions in several nations including Germany and Vietnam. In addition to many awards throughout his career Lee was awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross Medal along with 7 air combat medals. Upon retirement, Lee and his family moved to Wake, Virginia and he began a second career with Revere Gas.
In 1979 Lee joined the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a firefighter and helped Santa out every year. He also joined Deltaville Rescue Squad where he served as a medic. For fun he worked at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia as an EMT. Lee retired as a lifetime member from both Fire & Rescue and served as a volunteer with the Hartfield Auxiliary.
Lee's life’s journey was one of adventure, travel and friends from all walks of life. He enjoyed archery in the Alps of Switzerland, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, camping in the Rocky Mountains and traversing the USA and its amazing National Parks. His greatest treasures could be found right at home where he is now survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Bonnie Rosser; two daughters, Tammy Batschelet of Manteo, NC, Tonja Elgin of Hayes, Va; 6 grandchildren, Trey Batschelet, Candace Franklin, Carla McKenzie, Brooke Russell, Hannah Nelsen, Rebecca Elgin; and 5 great-grandchildren, Brinley, Keegan, Aria, Sydney & Caroline.
Lee and Bonnie are members of Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield, Virginia. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lower United Methodist Church, Hartfield, Va or Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department, Hartfield, Va.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda. A service will follow at Lee’s residence in Wake at 2:00 P.M.
