Lena Hughes

Lena Virginia Hughes, 86, of Onemo, Virginia passed away on July 12, 2015. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Mathews Baptist Church and active in many ministries of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving E. Hughes, Sr. and her son, Charles E. Hughes; a sister, Janette Hudgins and a brother, Floyd E. Hudgins, Jr. She is survived by her son, Rev. Everett Hughes (Nancy); a daughter-in-law Marie Hughes; four grandchildren, Irving E. Hughes III, Virginia H. Lawhead, Donna H. Weingand, Charles E. Hughes, Jr. and ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Erma Webb and many nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 7-9-p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Virginia. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Baptist Church with burial to follow in H.C. Smither Cemetery, Hudgins, Virginia.
