Leon W. Wright, 88, of Millers Tavern passed away at his residence, Saturday, May 5, 2018. He was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a retired salesman for Martin-Sale Furniture. Leon loved to dance and welcomed the community and those from miles around to Leon’s Place of Music next to his home. Musical and singing groups performed for many throughout the years. Leon is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Woodward Wright; his daughter, Peggy Wilson; two grandsons, Brandon and Alan Bates; great-granddaughter, Suki Bates; step-daughter, Frances Toney (James); brother in law, Joseph Spring; three step-grandchildren, Griffin Woodward, Melissa Saunders and Lauren Wray; 4 step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other loving family members.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 in Trinity United Methodist Church, Millers Tavern. Interment church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock.
