Lillian Juanita (Parks) Ware, 100, formerly of Deltaville, VA, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2017 in Lewes, Delaware. After graduating high school, she moved to Baltimore, MD where she met her husband Preston A. Ware. Juanita worked as a seamstress in Baltimore for many years. After retiring in 1972, she moved back to Deltaville, VA. She was a lifelong member of Philippi Christian Church and also a 25 year member of the Deltaville Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. Her husband, Preston, died in 1986. After that, Juanita moved with her daughter to Lewes, Delaware. She was predeceased by her husband, Preston A. Ware; grandson, R. Michael Ridgell; her parents, Tom and Elsie Parks, sisters; Naomi Wilson, Bernadine Metzler and Adell Fishpaw. Brothers; Winfred Parks and Leon Parks and a nephew; Tom Parks. Juanita is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ridgell; son-in-law, Richard Ridgell; grandson, D. Todd Ridgell; great-grandchildren; Heather Hunt (Justin), Megan and Madison Ridgell. Heather’s mother, Linda (Tony Grove) and their children, Elizabeth, Troy and Jarrett. Granddaughter-in-law, Tracy Ridgell. One great-great grandson, Elliott Adrian Hunt. Also survived by nieces; Charlotte Groves, Gloria Godsey, Sharon Smith, and Darlene Revere. One nephew, Calvin Wilson. Funeral services will be held at the Philippi Christian Church in Deltaville, VA on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11 A.M. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
