Linda Sullivan Lewis, 74, of Tappahannock, VA, exchanged her Earthly life for her Heavenly one on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at home surrounded in love by her family. She was the first born of three daughters to the late James Albert Sullivan and the late Naomi Fallin Sullivan. Linda was raised in Village, Virginia. She graduated from Rappahannock High School in 1968, briefly attended Virginia Wesleyan College, and later graduated from Smithdeal-Massey Business School as a Legal Secretary. In her working career, she was an Insurance Agent and an Antique Dealer. She married Robert "Curly" Lewis 54 years ago at Gibeon Baptist Church. They have one daughter, Christel Lewis Earles, son-in-law, Chris Earles, three grandchildren, Caleigh, Camden, and Collin Earles, and one great grandson, Alden Dawson.
Linda, affectionately known as "LinLin" to her grandchildren, adored her family. She loved to tease Robert by calling him Curly, a nickname only his friends are allowed to call him. He was the love of her life, her protector, and later her caregiver. Christel, with whom she shared a birthday, was Linda's "little woman" and her best friend. She was proud of Christel for achieving her educational and career goals. Chris, her beloved son-in-law, kept her laughing all the time at the crazy things he would say and do and stories he would tell. He is the son she never had. Linda was proud of Caleigh, her "beautiful granddaughter", for working full time and attending college full time while being a wonderful mom to Alden, Linda's "little monkeyshine", whom she babysat 5 days per week with Robert. Linda was proud of her "good-looking" grandson, Camden, for achieving his dream of becoming a college baseball pitching coach after playing baseball since he was 5 years old. She loved going to his games. Linda was also proud of her "good-looking" grandson, Collin, for being smart with computers and being great with dogs. She had planned to attend his college graduation this spring. Linda loved her two sisters, Jean and Debbie. With them, she would go on adventures, laugh, sing, and shop. She also loved her extended family, church family, and friends. She made sure to stay connected with them through calls, texts, and messages.
Linda enjoyed spending time in her yard, antiquing, thrifting, and buying jewelry. Being dressed for the day was important to her. She made sure her hair, makeup, and fingernails were done no matter how good or bad she felt. She was a devout Christian. She attended Gibeon Baptist Church, Village, VA, for over half her life and Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Tappahannock, VA for the last 20 plus years. At the end of her life, she told her family she was ready to go to heaven.
Left to cherish Linda's memory are her husband, Robert "Curly" Lewis, daughter, Christel Lewis Earles (Chris), grandchildren, Caleigh Earles (Nick Dawson), Camden Earles, Collin Earles; great-grandson, Alden Dawson; sisters, Jean White (Arnold), Debbie Gordon (Mike); nephew, Jason Patton (Liz); nieces, Rachel Blanchard (Josh), Jacqui Skinner (Topher), Eryn Gordon; great-nephews, Harrison, Jonah, and Christian Patton; great-nieces, Skylar Phillips, Sybil McMillian, and Pheobe Skinner.
