Lois Ann Bonhaus of Tappahannock, Virginia passed away on November 10, 2023, at the age of 80.
Lois Ann was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 18, 1943, to William Sammons and Anna Mae Sammons. While living in Cincinnati she married Dale Bonhaus on June 19, 1965. The couple welcomed 4 loving sons into the world. As the children grew up Lois Ann volunteered her time to the Cub Scouts as well as the Hamilton County Park District. She also volunteered as an EMT for nearly a decade. When the opportunity presented itself, she attended college with several of her sons where she earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting.
In 1998, Lois Ann and Dale moved to Tappahannock to start a new chapter. While living in Tappahannock, Lois Ann worked for Dillard and Katona Attorneys at Law as well as Saint Timothy Catholic Church. She also volunteered countless hours to the church while serving on Parish Council twice as well as being the Liturgy Committee chair. In her later years she enjoyed her hobbies of quilting and embroidery but her favorite thing to do was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lois Ann was preceded in death by her husband Dale Bonhaus. She is survived by her children Daryl Bonhaus (Kathleen), Edward Bonhaus (Penny), Kevin Bonhaus (Amanda) and James Bonhaus and grandchildren Riley Bonhaus and Addison Bonhaus.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Timothy Catholic Church on November 27, 2023, at 11:00am. A memorial Mass will be held in Cincinnati at a later date.
