Lora Louise Riddle Hudgins, October 9, 1941 to May 24, 2013, passed away peacefully at her home following a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. Louise was born in Asheville, NC and spent the majority of her life in Mathews, VA. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Louise was one of sixteen children born to the late Dalph and Della Riddle. She was the beloved wife of Grady Hudgins for fifty five years. Louise will forever be remembered by her siblings Edna Riddle Tyson, Dee Riddle Davis, Lillie Riddle Dye and Jimmy Riddle; beloved son Sterling Hudgins and daughter-in-law Kathryn Tatterson, treasured grandchildren Madeline, Morgan and Ray Hudgins, niece Vaneesa Davis and numerous other nieces and nephews, and caring special friend Brenda Moore.

Louise loved being outdoors and enjoyed tending her extensive flower gardens as well as hook and line fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She would teach cooking and gardening leaving memories to be cherished forever. An immaculate housekeeper, she was also an avid collector of butter dishes and cookbooks and always enjoyed reading a good novel.

The family will receive friends between 3-5 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home. A private ceremony will be held at a future time.

The family would like to thank Riverside Walter Reed Cancer Center and Riverside Hospice for the exceptional care that Louise received in her time of need. Memorials may be made in Louise's honor to the American Cancer Society, c/o Katie Dutton, PO Box 218, Cobbs Creek, VA 23035.
