Lora Smith

Lora Jane Smith “Gigi”, 67, of Lancaster, Virginia, passed away on July 13, 2022. She was a member of White Stone United Methodist Church. She was preceeded in death by her parents Wilbur and Billie Jo Morgan.

She leaves behind not only her loving husband Larry of 45 years, but also her children, Angela Beverly, Walter L. Smith Jr. “Bubba,” (Jeanette), Lora Mitchell, Justin Smith, and Rebekah Smith (Tim Marsh); her sister, Judy Rydell (Rob); her brother, Jeb Morgan; 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Janie grew up in White Stone on the Rappahannock River spending countless time at White Stone beach. Janie and Larry would often spend the weekend on the boat with their children in Carter’s Creek fishing. Most of the highlights of her life was watching her grandchildren play ball. Her grandchildren were her life, and meant everything to her.

A memorial service will be announced soon. This is a change, a service was scheduled for Saturday, July 23, but has to be postponed at the moment.
