Lucille Jewel Slate Fogg, of St. Stephens Church, born September 28, 1938 went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021 at her home. She was united in holy matrimony to Charles Edward Fogg in March of 1960. This union was blessed with five children. Charles preceded her in death on May 5, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Crockett Slate and Beulah Elizabeth Mabe Slate. She is preceded in death by her Son Francis J Palumbo Jr, her sisters Francis, Dorothy, Two brothers Rudolph and Sanders.
At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ. She enjoyed canning, tending to her flower garden and baking pound cakes for family and friends. Lucille was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother and friend. She left behind her beloved grandsons Joshua Marter and Charles Palumbo, they are her pride and joy; her daughters Shirley Marter (Gary), Bobbie Fogg-Palumbo, Teresa, Nancy, and Billie (Brian), Sister Nancy Wood, many nieces and nephews.
Lucille had strong faith in God and taught her family the same values. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Upper King and Queen Baptist Church with our family friend, Betty Jo Simms, officiating. Music will be provided by Sandra Walton. The family will receive friends after the memorial services in the Church Social Hall.
