Marie Cox Ferry

Marie Cox Ferry, 72, of Tappahannock, Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Tappahannock for 50 years. Marie moved to the river in 1998, and enjoyed laying out on the pier with her friends. She also loved to play Bridge with her friends, Joyce, Shirley, and Burnsie. She had a deep love for her family, and her two dogs, Bailey and Sailor. She enjoyed helping others, and had a great ability for making those around her laugh. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ila Cox; and her sister, Emma Dunn. 

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Wright Ferry; her daughter, Janet Ferry; and her sister, Etta Davis. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7th, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 216 Duke Street, Tappahannock, Virginia, 22560. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the church with a reception to follow. Faulkner Funeral Home, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock is assisting the family with arrangements.
