Marie Freeman

Marie Freeman of Tappahannock, passed away on January 1,2021,at the age of 99. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Douglas Freeman. She is survived by her son Alan (Susan); grandchildren, Michael Freeman and Emily Freeman Vazir and their mother ,Diane Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Marie was born in North Carolina in 1921. She later moved to Richmond, where she started her 45 year career as an employee of C&P Telephone (Bell Atlantic and Verizon). Many of her enduring friendships were formed during her years there. She was a member of Beale Memorial Baptist Church, where she enjoyed the fellowship of her friends in the community. Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a kind and caring friend to many.

Marks-Bristow Funeral Home in Tappahannock is assisting the family. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
