Marie Green Stallings, 83, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at home. Marie was born in Norfolk, VA on May 23, 1928. She met and married Sidney D. Stallings and moved to Remlik, VA in 1954. She was an active member of Remlik Wesleyan Church serving as Treasurer for many years. She was a volunteer at Nearly New and loved to read. She retired at the age of 82 with reluctance, preferring to stay busy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney D. Stallings and two sisters Laura Reca and Virginia Pelham. She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Wayne) Bray of Urbanna; her sons, Joe (Kathy) Stallings of Archdale, NC and James (Janna) Stallings of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Heath (Susan) Bray, Troy (Lee Anne) Bray, Jason (Connie) Bray, Kara (Andrew) Hurlburt, Paige (Brad) Burgess, Jill Stallings, Josh Stallings and Tim Sperry; great-grandchildren, Healy Bray, Kathryn and Caroline Bray, Annie Bray, Peyton and Graham Burgess and Cade, Anna Reese and Molly Hurlburt. She is also survived by her brother Clyde (Billy) and Martha Green and her sister Naomi Hammond. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday in Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Interment Remlik Memorial Gardens at Remlik.
