Marilyn Elaine Stinson Sutton, 85, of Cobbs Creek, Virginia went home to the Good Lord on Monday, May 17, 2021. She enjoyed a long, successful, satisfying career in community service with Virginia Water Project. She focused on providing clean water and sanitation facilities. She was a member of Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John A. Stinson and son Kelvin.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Sutton; a daughter and son-in-law, Lin and Carl Minnix; granddaughter, Veronica Elaine Minnix; great-grandchildren, Zacchaeus and Lillian Gresham; close family members, Eugene, Pat and Mike Stoots, Doris Whittaker, Lewis and Linda Stephens; close friend, Sheila Armistead and numerous beloved friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at H.C. Smither Memorial Cemetery, Hudgins, Virginia. Please be advised that current state-mandated guidelines will apply to all in attendance, including social distancing and appropriate face coverings.
