Martha Gaddy

Martha Snow Gaddy, age 87, of Tappahannock, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018. She was born in Charlottesville, VA on March 6, 1931 to Elmer James and Constance Kidd Snow. She married David Winfred Gaddy of Albemarle, NC on August 15, 1953 in Charlottesville. Martha graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She taught piano lessons in her previous home in New Carrollton, MD, and sang in church choirs and community groups. Performances at the White House were especially memorable. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Rebecca Lucinda Gaddy. She is survived by daughter Catherine Diane Gaddy; grandson, Patrick Gaddy Doyle; brother-in-law, Elliott Gaddy (Sally); nephew, Charlie Gaddy (Jennifer) and family; niece, Barbara Turner (Jason) and family and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 216 Duke St, Tappahannock, VA 22560, officiated by the Reverend Dr. Candine Johnson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery, and a reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
