Mary Riley

Mary “Jodie” Riley passed away at home on Sunday, December 22, 2013, succumbing to her long fight with cancer. She was born in September of 1949 in Cumberland, Maryland. She traveled extensively, and settled in Urbanna in 1996. Jodie was a kind and selfless person, serving the Middle Peninsula Northern Neck Community Services Board for nearly 20 years where she dedicated herself to the care of individuals with intellectual disabilities. She graduated from Penn State University, and remained sharp and witty with a great sense of humor. Jodie is survived by her daughter, Rebecca, three sisters, Judy, Pan, and Dorothy, and brother, Gary. She had countless friends, and touched the life of everyone with whom she came into contact. She enjoyed music, nature, and spending time with family and friends. She had a beautiful soul.Friends are invited to a memorial service which will be held at the Church of the Visitation in Topping on January 18th at 2:00 pm.
