Matthew Roane

Matthew Dalton Roane, age 37, died unexpectedly on July 22, 2021, in Avondale, PA where he currently resided. Matthew, born on March 9, 1984, in Williamsburg, VA, was the son of Sherrie Haywood Carmona (Waldo) and David Hill Roane (Mary Beth).

He has three brothers, Justin Roane (Amber), Alex Carmona, Gregory Carmona, and one “sister by choice”, Rachel DeHoyos (Christian). Matthew is also survived by his nephew Colton Roane, niece Ariel Roane, and nephew Adrian Carmona, his longtime companion Dana Saldan, her son Brandon and daughter Rylie, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Matthew began his career as an Automotive Technician for Nissan, but later transitioned to the aviation field becoming a Lead Logistician at Summit Aviation before becoming an Aircraft Ground Support Equipment Technician at East Coast Aviation, LLC where he was currently employed. He was meticulous and excelled in all that he pursued. In his leisure time, Matthew enjoyed spending time with his beloved Siberian Huskies both past and present, Niko, Akira and Mila, as well as enjoying driving fast cars, golfing, fishing, boating, the ocean surf and SCUBA diving. He was always on the go. Slowing down was not something he knew how to do and he had so much more he wanted to do. Matthew will be in our hearts forever.

Friends and family are invited to his visitation 11 AM -12 Noon Saturday, August 7th at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, 160 Main Street, Mathews, VA 23109, 804-725-2141. The Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home at 12 Noon followed by a lunch reception at the Locust Grove United Methodist Church, Dutton, VA.
